Jaisalmer, a historic city located in the hostile terrain of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, is one of the premier tourist destinations in Rajasthan; and is visited by tourists from India and abroad, all round the year. You can easily reach this grand city via roadways, airways and the railways. Although Jaisalmer is not connected via airways, travelling by the trains is the best way to reach Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer Fort – Locally known as the ‘Sonar Quila‘, this fort is the main centre of attraction in Jaisalmer, with thousands of tourists visiting it round the year.
Gadsisar Lake – Hire an autorickshaw and move towards the outskirts of the city, and you would find the beautiful Gadsisar Lake. During the winters, which is the ideal time to visit Jaisalmer, you would find migratory birds around the lake.
Jeep Safaris & Camel Safaris in Jaisalmer – Enjoy the jeep safari in the sandy Thar Desert. You can also visit the sand dunes, which is about 40 km from Jaisalmer. You should also try out the camel safari in the desert , which are of varied duration; ranging from a day to several days.
